This Year,
Next Year

Set in Bournemouth England in 1944, this is a heart-warming story of a mother and her three daughters during the last months of WWII. This is not a story about war, but a touching story of family life during the war — about sisters, family dynamics, ‘unique’ relatives, rationing, air raids and the uncertainty of life itself, but still managing to make the very best of it. And most importantly, falling in love. Based on true events in her own life, this script was written by Norah Harding who came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. It was first produced at Blyth in 1995.
